Sketchbook Entry Prompts for October 14

Create a realistic portrait of a cartoon character. Prompt: love and loss.

Portray a sense of deviousness with a field of roses and a kung-fu fight.

Show a woman with long nails, and a band of rebels. The piece should not contain any sort of chivalry.

This picture depicts a haggard woman and an elf and either mirrors or the texture of leather. Prompt: illusion.

Using purple colors, create a picture of a demon in a gondola. Theme: the leaves are falling.

Your picture is set in a carnival during winter and involves two of these three elements: a black leather trenchcoat, elaborate clothing that means things, or synchronized swimming.

A Visual Voice!

A Visual Voice: A printmaking unit tackling social injustice.

<---Artist: Colin Matthes
Presidential Debates

I never thought I would make a print about presidential elections, but here it is. I made this print for a travelling show called art of democracy.

The recent financial bailouts have have added to this pre-bailout print.

There are a few different versions of this print-black and yellow on brown, just black on brown, black and yellow on grey, and black on grey. ..they all look pretty similar.

Title: A Slingshot to Defend Your Life?

A solidarity piece with the young Palestinian children who must use slingshots to defend their lives and their land from the Israeli tanks, "Apache" helicopters and machine-gun toting soldiers who continue to invade, "settle" and colonize Palestine.
